Crazy Easy Truffles
Truffles can be frustrating and messy when you dip each of them in melted chocolate, but in this recipe I show you that you can simply roll your truffles in different toppings to keep it simple!
Crazy Easy Truffles
2 cups (16 oz) chocolate chips or bars chopped
â…“ cup heavy whipping cream
5 tablespoons salted butter, melted
Toppings of choice: freeze dried strawberry powder, chocolate shavings, cocoa powder, pistachios, or coconut
1. In a medium-sized microwave safe dish, heat the cream and butter until steamy. About 1 minute.
2. Carefully add the chocolate so you do not get splashed by the hot milk mixture. DO NOT STIR. Allow the mixture to sit for about a minute. This gives the chocolate a chance to melt.
3. Stir the mixture using a whisk until smooth. If any lumps of chocolate remain, microwave for 30 seconds and stir again. Add extract if desired.
4. Cover and refrigerate until firm, about 30-45 minutes. If left longer it will become too firm and will need to sit at room temperature for a bit.
5. Scoop into 1 inch balls. Refrigerate for 5-10 minutes and then roll into smooth balls. Roll in desired toppings. Store in the refrigerator.
